Although their has been no official statement till now by the company and the feature is still under trials. The news regarding this update comes exactly one year after WhatsApp successfully introduced Voice Calling for its users in 2015. Although coming to Android, its beta users till now have just received an option for the video call which still shows “Option isn’t available yet.” prompt. WhatsApp 2.16.80 was available in the Google Play Store via the WhatsApp beta program but has since been updated and video calling options were removed.

WhatsApp is also reportedly testing sending group invites through QR codes, links, and NFC tags.

WhatsApp released a web browser version of its app called WhatsApp Web in January 2015, and last week a standalone desktop application was also released. WhatsApp is now available on every major computing platform and is gearing up to take over other existing communicating apps in the market by introducing this feature.
